How is Seattle approaching Transit-Oriented Development? In a new article for The Urbanist, our director created interactive maps that compare five minute walksheds to bus stops (top, green) with the city's plans to add more housing capacity along transit corridors (bottom, brown and orange).

In Seattle's least dense neighborhoods, fewer than one in ten parcels near transit would be upzoned in Seattle’s latest zoning proposal—and almost all new capacity would be concentrated on hazardous arterial streets. We describe an alternative strategy that would add more housing capacity while prioritizing safe streets.
